A space to make without fear

Come join us and make a zine!

You don’t need confidence or artistry or previous experience making a zine (although it won’t hurt if you have any of these)

You just need to arrive.

This is a Zinecrafting session, a calm, hands-on space where we make zines together, slowly, simply, without the pressure of getting it right.

This is not a workshop in the usual sense.

What we’ll do

We begin with a simple fold of paper.

From there, we build slowly:

-Folding and forming your own zine structure

-Cutting, placing, writing, and collecting

-Following small prompts (or ignoring them completely)

There is no final outcome you’re trying to achieve. You will simply end up with something that exists because you made it

What this really is

Most of us learned early that making things had conditions attached:

X Be good at it

Make it neat

Crafting is childish

You’re not good at art

Don’t waste time with arts and crafts

And somewhere along the way, many of us stopped making things at all.

Not because we didn’t want to, but because it started to feel like we weren’t allowed to.

This ZineCrafting session is a gentle interrupton to that head noise. It’s a no-grade, evaluation-free making space.A place where nothing is improved, corrected, judged.

This is not a performative experience. You are not performing creativity. You are bing creative. Simply by showing up and making a zine.

Who this is for

This ZineCrafting session is for you if:

  • You were told art was not a real path
  • You feel awkward or frozen when asked to be creative
  • You simply enjoy doing something creative with your hands
  • You want to spend a few hours playing with paper and fun stationery goodies whilst your phone is tucked away
  • You’re tired of productivity-driving creativity

What you’ll leave with

You’ll leave with:

A handmade zine you created during the session

A quiet reminder that making is still available to you

A sense of what it feels like to create without fear watching or ruling you
