About Alicia Joy

Hi. I'm Alicia!

I create zines & greeting cards that help you capture meaningful experiences so they live beyond the moment and beyond digital screens. My body of work combines storytelling, keepsake-making, and archival design, turning fleeting moments into something tagible and deeply human.

Why Zines?

What are zines?

Zines are small-format publications created to hold what matters. They are powerful little tools to hold ideas, spread information or artistic work. There are no rules for zines. You can make one for whatever purpose you choose. Here at Zines Etc, they are part archive, part story, for moments that deserve to be remrembered.

Why do zines matter?

In an increasingly digital age, zines are powerful little keepsakes that remind us to slow down, cherish moments, and create archives of the moments, experiences, and ideas that matter. We forget more than we realize. Zines give shape to moments that would otherwise fade from memory.

Who are zines for?

Zines Etc isn't for everyone. The zines I create are for those who value slowing down. Who understand the importance of taking the time to notice, savor, and archive what matters in life.

I create custom zines (short, creative publications)

What I design

for individuals & couples

I create custom zines and greeting cards that turn meaningful life moments into tangible keepsakes. These pieces are created for milestones, transitions, anniversaries, and personal reflections, giving you something physical you can share and return to long after the moment has passed.

for Communities & Memberships

Custom welcome cards, milestone cards, and cohort-based zine systems. These help shape how people enter, move through, and remember a shared experience, making belonging feel more tangible even in digital or distributed spaces.

for Coaches

Structured client and community touchpoint systems using zines and physical cards. These systems support onboarding progression, and completion, transforming client journeys into experiences that feel considered, memorable, and human.

for Retreats & Community events

Custom zines that become part of the experience itself and part of what remains afterwards. I can design them for your event to be used as welcome pieces, reflection companions, or participant keepsakes. I also design them for after the event to help people revisit, process, and remember what the experience meant to them once they return home.

Testimonials

Alicia, your online zine making session was spectacular! I had heard of zines but never made one myself. I kind of felt intimidated and didn't know where to start so I never made any. But the online session changed all of that. So much inspiration and fun. I've made 3 more since, and I'm now zine-obsessed. Thanks, Alicia!

The custom zines Alicia created for our event were a true reflection of the positive energy and professionalism that we like to create at our Soul Sanctuary events. The choice and positioning of the images, word choice, and font were on point, even the paper weight was easy for participants to work with whist still holding its shape and eloquent design! The smooth collaboration between us allowed for clear, prompt communication to happen throughout. She responded to each of our requests with enthusiasm and efficiency which was always maintained. I will always highly recommend Alicia, especially due to her patience thorough work ethic and commitment to the cause.
